Now have been here near a dozen times over several months and always exceptional.
This is the best Chinese food I've had in many years, if not ever. Most Chinese places we've been in CO are *awful*, but this place isn't just better, it's fantastic. I've lived in CO for over 2 years and have been looking for good Chinese the whole time. I just wish this place wasn't an hour from my house.
The portion sizes are exceptional, almost too big. The staff is friendly and the waiter speaks coherent English, a rarity in these places. Service is quick and the food is both delightfully presented and hot. There is no hint of poor quality ingredients or stale fry oil as is common.
The General Tsos Chicken is the best I've had in many years. It's not just bland chicken with nothing else. It has red and green peppers, onions, water chestnuts and bamboo. It is truly exceptional.
My family has had the Egg Drop and Hot and Sour soups, the General Chicken, Chicken and Broccoli, Sesame Chicken and Orange Chicken with both white and fried rice. All are amazing. Full of flavor, excellent ratios, perfectly cooked, beautiful presentation. I really can't say enough.
This is one of the very few places that I can't believe has any negative reviews. Those people must be Gordon Ramsey wanna-bes. -

Came here on a whim on our way from the airport to Telluride. It's in a cute location, surrounded by other shops, bars, and restaurants - classic Colorado mountain town, but it's a sleepy spot.
The restaurant itself is large, lots of square footage, with the front of the restaurant dedicated to patrons. It's a dated space and doesn't feel particularly charming or cozy, but it got the job done. The owners are Chinese, so that's encouraging, and it seems like it's family-owned, so I'm always a proponent of that! We ate lunch there. Our entrees came with hot and sour soup, which was on point and all that was expected. We also ordered kung pao chicken and another dish I can't remember. It came with fried rice and an egg roll, and while this wasn't the most amazing Chinese food I've ever had, it's a solid choice and their food is reliable. The price is good, parking is easy, quick service, good to have the variety in the area, and friendly waiter. -

Ridgway is so fortunate to have such a wonderful Chinese restaurant! We have been patrons for many years. The food is flavorful and the portions are large. The steaming wor wonton soup is chocked full of shrimp, wontons and veggies. Don't miss the moo shoo or volcano shrimp. The service is fast and courteous. The Oriental Chinese Restaurant is a gem!

Based on other reviews I thought it would be very good. Unfortunately the Pad Thai was overly sweet and the Cashew dish was too salty. Both had some kind of processed beef pieces that were like no other beef I've ever seen.
I hope others will comment after they try for lunch.
Very disappointed. We were going to the Thai place around the corner but it was closed at lunch today. -

A great hidden treasure, who'd think that a small town in the Colorado mountains would have such a great Chinese restaurant?! My family had been driving all day and were starving. I called ahead to make sure they were open, it's off season up here. The cutest (and very polite and professional) young girl answered the phone. When we arrived there were only one other set of diners, but it was late so I wasn't concerned. We had a very polite but not over bearing server and very speedy preparation of our food, which was a good thing for how hungry we all were. For our family of 5 (with 3 young kids) we ordered Sweet and Sour Pork, Chicken Lo Mein and Potstickers with Fried Rice to share. The food was perfect, very flavorful and fresh and the pricing was very reasonable. We will definitely eat here again if we're ever traveling in the area.
